Dr Besiris CV

Dr. George Besiris is an Orthopedic Surgeon.

His many years of experience in private clinics and hospitals, as well as in medical coverage of various sports clubs, along with his view of medicine as a function, led him to found Orthopedia, with the aim of providing high quality orthopedic services and integrated therapeutic services for every orthopedic problem.

He was born on August 17, 1979 and raised in Athens. He comes from the Kalarrites of Ioannina.

He is married and has one son and two daughters.

He studied at the Medical School of the University of Athens, 1999-2006.

He is a PhD candidate at the Athens Medical School with a PhD on “Comparative study of topical use of tranexamic acid in total knee arthroplasty (intra-articular injection)”.

Dr. George Besiris is actively, regularly and systematically involved (as an assistant of the Faculty of Anatomy) in the preparation and conduct of the Laboratory Exercises and the anatomical teaching in the Anatomy Room of the Medical School until today.

As a student in 2001, he founded the Medical Sports Coverage Company (IEKAD) offering services to all types of sporting events (Football – Tournament 5 × 5 – Basketball – Karate – Fencing – Polo – Hockey).

In 2006, he was appointed Vice-President of the Health Committee of the Association of Football Associations of West Attica (EPSA) and shortly afterwards the medical coverage of the Thrasivoulos Football Team.

He received the specialty of Surgeon – Orthopedic at the Elefsina General Hospital “Thriassio” and Children’s General Hospital “P. and Aglaia Kiriakou”.

In 2013 he founded Orthopedia, with the aim of providing high quality orthopedic services and integrated therapeutic intervention for any orthopedic problem.

He was a member of the Medical Club of Medical Students and New Doctors.

He is also a member of the Hellenic Society of Trauma and Emergency Surgery, the Athletic Society of Greece and the Athens Medical Association.

He has participated in the organization of many scientific conferences.
